Terms of Service
Last updated 27 August 2026. Plain English, and it describes what actually happens rather than what would be convenient for us.
Who you are contracting with
Casso Websites, a sole-proprietor business operated from Connecticut, United States. Contact: casso@casso-websites.com. Using the service means you accept these terms.
What the free plan is
You can have a website built and hosted on a .bycasso.com address at no cost, and keep it for as long as you want it. We do not put an expiry on it and we will not hold it hostage to make you upgrade. Sites on the free plan carry a small “Made with Casso” credit in the footer.
The honest caveat: this is a small business, and if it ever stopped operating we could not host your site forever. If we were ever going to take free sites down, we would email you first and give you your files.
What the paid upgrade is
The Site Upgrade is $99, paid once through Stripe, for one website. It does not renew and there is no subscription. It covers:
Connecting a domain you own
You can put that website on a domain name you already own. We give you the DNS records to set at your registrar and set up the HTTPS certificate. Casso does not buy or register domain names; the domain and its renewal are between you and your registrar.
A bigger backend
Higher limits for that website's member accounts, stored records and daily requests, as listed on the pricing page.
10,000 credits
Added to your account once, for building and changes. They are not a monthly allowance.
The upgrade lasts as long as Casso hosts that website. If we ever stop offering hosting, we will email you first and give you your files.
Older yearly plans
Before October 2026 the paid plan was $96 a year. Anyone still on it keeps what it covered until the end of the period they paid for; email us to cancel and we will, with no questions. A domain we registered for you under that plan is yours to take with you.
Refunds
If something has gone wrong, or you paid for something we did not deliver, email us and we will refund you. We would rather give the money back than argue about it.
What we ask of you
Do not use Casso to publish anything illegal, to impersonate someone else, to run a scam or a phishing page, or to host malware or content that infringes someone's copyright. We can take down a site that does, and we will tell you why.
You confirm that you have the right to use the text, images and logos you send us.
API keys you give us
If you give us an API key for another company's service so that your site can use it, you are telling us you are entitled to use that key and that doing so does not break that company's terms. We store it encrypted and use it only for the purpose you gave it to us for, sent only to the hostnames agreed when you supplied it. Whatever that company charges for use of the key is yours to pay, not ours — we do not monitor, cap, or reimburse third-party usage, and you should set your own spending limits with them. Tell us to delete a key and we will; you can also revoke it at their end at any time, which takes effect immediately whatever we hold.
Who owns what
The content of your website is yours. Ask and we will send you the files. A domain we registered on your behalf is yours to take with you — ask and we will start the transfer.
Casso's own software, brand and this website stay ours.
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee uninterrupted uptime, and we cannot promise your site will rank in Google for anything. The service is provided as it is. Our liability to you for anything that goes wrong is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months, which for most people is $99 or nothing. Nothing here limits liability that the law does not let us limit.
Changes to these terms
If we change them in a way that affects what you are paying for, we will email people with an active subscription before it takes effect.
